Mr. Speaker, I would like to take this opportunity to\nspeak about a very special Missourian.\n  Larry Stewart has spent the past 27 years selflessly giving to the\npeople of Kansas City. Mr. Stewart is a kind-hearted businessman from\nLee's Summit, Missouri, and until recently, was known to many only as\nthe ``Secret Santa.'' Every December since 1979, Mr. Stewart has\nwandered the streets of Kansas City quietly searching for people in\nneed, and handing them $100 bills.\n  This honorable tradition began with a generous tip to a stranger. Mr.\nStewart had just been fired from his job, the week before Christmas,\nand drove to a drive-in restaurant to cheer himself up. As soon as he\nsaw what the $20 bill he had handed the waitress meant to her, he\nwithdrew $200 from his bank account and drove around looking for people\nwho seemed like they could use a lift. He has been handing out cash to\npeople in need every December since. This year, with the help of a few\nspecial elves and four specially trained Secret Santas, he will hand\nout $165,000.\n  Unfortunately, Mr. Stewart will also be spending this December\nfighting his esophageal cancer. Mr. Speaker, I ask my colleagues to\nkeep Mr. Stewart in their thoughts, and use him as an example of\nkindness and generosity this holiday season.\n\n                          ____________________"]], "columns": ["granule_id", "date", "congress", "session", "volume", "issue", "title", "chamber", "granule_class", "sub_granule_class", "page_start", "page_end", "speakers", "bills", "citation", "full_text"], "primary_keys": ["granule_id"], "primary_key_values": ["CREC-2006-12-08-pt1-PgE2139-2"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 6.200082832947373, "source": "Federal Register API & Regulations.gov API", "source_url": "https://www.federalregister.gov/developers/api/v1", "license": "Public Domain (U.S. Government data)", "license_url": "https://www.regulations.gov/faq"}
