Mr. Speaker, we will continue to work on this whole\nsubject of the schedule for the remainder of the day and ensuing. I\nknow Members on both sides of the aisle are very anxious about this\nschedule, and let me just suggest that we will need to perhaps put the\nHouse into recess for an hour.\n  We will continue with our meeting and our negotiations with the\nminority, and hopefully within the hour we can return with an\nannouncement of what the schedule will be for the remainder of this\nday, this week, and that time ensuing.\n  Mr. Speaker, I should encourage Members to stay close to their\noffices. We would like to, on behalf of all the Members, be able to\ngive you definitive word within that hour time period, and at that\npoint, of course, each and every Member can follow up as they and their\nfamily's needs dictate.\n  If I may ask the indulgence of the Chamber, that we take that recess,\ncome back within the hour, and make that announcement.\n  Mr. BONIOR. Mr. Speaker, will the gentleman yield?\n  Mr. ARMEY. I yield to the gentleman from Michigan.\n  Mr. BONIOR. Mr. Speaker, I would say to the gentleman from Texas, the\nmajority leader, let me just state from the perspective of many on this\nside of the aisle, and I assume some even on the gentleman's side of\nthe aisle, that we would look down upon any activity in this body to go\nforward with impeachment while American men and women are engaged in\narmed conflict.\n  I hope in your deliberations, I hope in your deliberations, that you\nconsider the message that that will send to people around the world,\nand more particularly, those who are fighting on behalf of this\ncountry.\n  Mr. ARMEY.
