Also, the "Homeowners Insurance Protection Act of 2007," H.R. 91/S. 928; would authorize the Treasury Department to sell catastrophic reinsurance to state catastrophe funds. Study Commissions on Natural Catastrophe Insurance (H.R. 5371/S. 292) under these proposals Congress would authorize a commission to study the various disaster insurance ideas to determine which of them represent the best public policy choices. S. 618/H.R. 1081 - the "Insurance Industry Competition Act," which would repeal the McCarran Ferguson Act's antitrust exemption and subject the insurance industry to Federal Trade Commission regulation.
