While in DC I arranged a meeting with House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries (who is also our alum) and Majority Leader Schumer. Those meetings occurred in the afternoon on Tuesday, October 19. The point of the meetings was to bring both leaders up to speed on our NSF Engines application. Congressman Jeffries staff did express interested in potentially writing a support letter for our project. Senator Schumer had already submitted a letter of support for our New Energy New York - SE proposal. Congressman Jeffries meeting involved more of a conversation about what our "Engines" program aimed to accomplish for Upstate New York. Senator Schumer's visit was more of a quick greeting and a photo opportunity. | HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,SENATE | 0 | 0 | 2023-10-06T10:19:40-04:00 |
