Hadassah spoke to congressional offices about expanding infertility awareness and education for policymakers. Champion Bipartisan Action on Infertility (H.Res. 338) Recognizing that infertility is a widespread problem that affects populations of diverse ages, races, ethnicities, and genders. Reproductive and infertility issues are all too common, but sadly, many American women and men continue to suffer in silence. Its time to re-think our approach to infertility - and for Members of Congress to have a better understanding of what this disease is and how it is caused, which communities are at an increased risk, and what should be done to reduce barriers to diagnoses and treatment. Urge your legislator to support actions that will expand Congressional support for better policies addressing infertility treatments and diagnoses. While some states have made steps towards expanding access to infertility treatment, solutions are needed at the federal level. Advocate for Womens Lung Cancer Prevention and Research (H.R. 1800 | S. 699) Women and Lung Cancer Research and Preventive Services Act. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States, claiming more lives than breast, colon and prostate cancers combined - even as the number of smokers declines year after year. Urge Congress to support the bipartisan Women and Lung Cancer Research and Preventive Services Act to improve scientific understanding and support early detection to save lives. The bipartisan Women and Lung Cancer Research and Preventive Services Act (H.R. 1800 | S. 699) would mandate an assessment of current research and prospects for interagency collaboration, recommendations for a national cancer screening strategy to expand access to early detection services, and opportunities for a national public awareness and education campaign. The Women Veterans and Families Health Services Act of 2019 (S. 319. The Women Veterans and Families Health Services Act would improve the reproductive assistance provided by the Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs to severely wounded, ill, or injured members of the Armed Forces, veterans, and their spouses or partners, and for other purposes. This would build upon the upcoming study of infertility in the armed forces, which was authorized by Congress last year. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,SENATE   30000 0 0 2021-06-30T11:46:32.453000-04:00
