These bills would increase the H-2B visa program's cap limit. Additionally, NCA lobbied for language in the House of Representatives' Department of Homeland Security FY19 Appropriations bill that will also expand the H-2B visa program. When American workers are unwilling to take on seasonal positions, clubs turn to the H-2B program. Without these workers, many clubs are unable to fully staff their facilities. The language we supported in the appropriations bill was included in the final legislation. That bill has not yet been voted on by the full House. NCA also lobbied for H.R. 3956 and S. 2670, the Simplifying Technical Aspects Regarding Seasonality Act. This legislation will remove the two different definitions for seasonal staffers currently found in the Affordable Care Act. By so doing, club leaders will better understand who must be counted when determining if their facility has 50 or more full-time or full-time equivalent employees and who is then required to be offered health insurance under the law. | HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,SENATE | 0 | 0 | 2018-10-11T15:56:41.650000-04:00 |
