Further, NCRA is looking into how captioning will play into the newest version of the Telecommunications Act with Congress and would like to see the number of media markets that mandate closed captioning expanded beyond the top 25. Additionally, NCRA is in favor of expanding online captioning through a new version of the Telecommunications Act. NCRA is also working with the FCC on the issue of POTS lines being replaced with higher speed IP lines.
