It would improve safety and security of our nation’s gas and liquid transmission and distribution systems, as well as protect approximately 20,000 IBEW workers who work for utilities and contractors in the natural gas and oil industries. (6/12/02 Ltr.) The IBEW testified before several Congressional Committees regarding IBEW employees affected by the Enron debacle, and its effect on workers, investors and the public who were put at risk of losing their livelihoods.
