1551041 9536c741-903f-4ec1-ad33-0f00c933efd9 Q2 NATIONAL CLUB ASSOCIATION 27423 NATIONAL CLUB ASSOCIATION 2014 second_quarter LBR NCA lobbied for HR 4238, a bill to stop the Department of Labor (DOL) from implementing any further changes to the H-2B Visa Program. DOL has issued a new wage rule that would make the program too expensive for NCA members to use. This bill would prohibit that. Additionally, NCA lobbied for an amendment to the Senate's FY15 Appropriations Bill for DOL that would prohibit funding for the new wage rule. The appropriations bill has not been voted on yet. NCA also lobbied on behalf of the Save American Workers Act, HR 2575. The bill will change the definition of full-time employee found in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act from 30 hours per week to 40 hours per week. With this change, NCA members will minimize health insurance costs that otherwise could cause them to reduce hours for employees or layoff workers. The bill passed the House but has not been acted upon in the Senate. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,SENATE   10000 0 0 2014-07-15T12:51:27.490000-04:00
